Running with Soul: Meet Fawn (#6)

Featured Runner: Fawn

The Pirate Mama

How many years have you been running?

I've been running for approximately 10 years but in a more structured manner over the past year and a half.

Little bit about yourself:

I'm married to a wonderful man. We have 3 sons, ages 14, 11, and 2. I work full time and spend much of my off time contributing to my fitness group. In October I passed the certification exam to become a personal trainer via NASM and am currently studying for my Fitness Nutrition certification. I love health and fitness.

Who or what inspires you to run?

My kids inspire me to be healthy and run. I want to be healthy for them.

What is your running mantra?

Progress NOT Perfection

What is your favorite running/fitness blog?

The Bikini Body Mommy Challenge

What has been your most memorable race?

The Color Run in Orlando

What is your dream race? (Besides Boston)

The Disney Half

What are you currently training for?

I am slowly training for a half. I'd like to do a half at Disney by the end of next year.

What one piece of running gear can you not live without?

Good running shoes and my Brady Bands {nonslip awesomeness}

If you could share any words of advice/encouragement to a new runner, what would it be?

My biggest piece of advice is to buy GOOD shoes. I mean spend the money and get the $100 pair of shoes. It will make a difference in your running experience. I thank my husband for pushing me to do this. It was a game changer for me.

Be sure to follow Fawn on her running journey:

I am starting a new fitness group for anyone who would like to join! Just click the link and ask to join!

Thank you so much Fawn! First off, CONGRATS on becoming a Certified Personal Trainer! Awesome advice! I think many new runners never visit a running store to get fitted for the first time. The running shoe is such an invaluable tool in a runner’s arsenal.

Be sure to check back each week, as another runner shares their story of running with soul.

Happy Running!
