Sassy Girls for a Serious Cause {Guest Post}

Hey guys! We are so happy to be able to share our journey here with you in this guest post.

Combining our nicknames, we are referred to as Team Sassy Pants.... and
we're training for a marathon!!

…Let the anxiety commence…

The race we're training for is the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco on October 20. We've never run a marathon before, so we need all of the support/advice/love we can get!

We've learned so much about ourselves on this journey. From simple things like what shoes to wear to making life decisions… it’s all happened on our training runs. It has been the hardest but most strengthening adventure. We are so glad we committed to this.

One of our Honored Teammates, Bob Brown, and his daughter Karen. Bob battled leukemia for a year before passing away in 2008.

For the past few months (and many, many miles!) we've been training with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training- an incredible organization that does really important
work towards finding a cure for blood cancer. Through our Honored Teammates who have fought cancer, we find inspiration to get up early on Saturday mornings and push through huge mileage (we’re doing 20 miles this Saturday… what!?!). They are constant reminders of why we are on this journey.

We have set out to raise an incredible $10,000 for the cure before race day. But we need help from individuals like you to not only help us cross the finish line of the marathon, but our fundraising finish line as well.

You can be a part of this journey, too! Check out our blog and stay updated on our fundraising HERE.

Back in the Saddle

M.I.A no longer!

Hi All! It is true, I am back (well somewhat). It has been a pretty busy few months and I had to take a blogging hiatus. Since then many exciting things have happened so I thought I would share them with you this morning.

1. I have completed over 300 miles for 2013!

2. I began a new challenge for the fall hosted by Laura @ Mommy Run Fast

3. I completed my longest training run EVER!

4. I had my first 20 mile week!

5. I finished and LOVED Robert Galbraith's (aka J.K. Rowling) A Cuckoo's Calling. If you love mystery and action novels I would say you should pick it up.

6. I met Tatyana McFadden! I watched her during the Boston Marathon and was completely a dork when I met her. She is such an amazing athlete and woman!

7. Les Mills Pump @ home is the way to go! I love not having to worry about a gym schedule!

Short and sweet! I hope you all have a fantastic week!
