Rest Day and Follow Friday

Rest days. I don't know about any other runners, but I really have to FORCE myself to take a break. Yes, I understand that physically my body needs a break in order to perform better and I will prevent injury. I just hate that I end up in "busy body" mode hoping if I finish every chore known to man I will be able to head to the gym. Of course, my spouse and dog-son are not letting me leave the house.

He is pretty adorable, right?

Well, back to resting up for a long run tomorrow.

By the way, be sure to check out my #FollowFridays!

Many good wishes to all those heading to Boston this weekend to run the B.A.A 10K and everyone else racing!

Happy Running!

    1. LOL! 1. Don't you hate that? I am about to start a full time job Monday so I am probably going to have the same struggle. 2. I definitely am struggling with my love/hate relationship with rest days. 3. They would be bests! Bear is in desperate need of socialization. We have been really bad about introducing him to other dogs. 4. Dorothy is my "Fairy Motivation God-Mother". Everything she rights is always spot on! 5. Have a great weekend too!

    1. I am right there with you! I always feel like I eat too much and am being "lazy" on top of it. Luckily I have a long run to look forward to tomorrow! Happy weekend!

  4. Hi there! I found your blog through the GGSA fb page. Some weeks I love my rest days and some weeks my rest days are worse than any other run or cross training days!

    1. YAY! Happy to "meet" another GGSA! Rest days=wild card. I am the same way, some weeks my muscles are begging for a break! Then other weeks I feel like I am about to jump out of my skin! I guess I have to count my blessings/rest days because I have not been injured (KNOCK ON WOOD) in quite a while! Have a great weekend!

  5. I often have to force rest days as well. Now that I'm following a schedule for my (eek!) full marathon training, I'm pretty adamant about making sure I get the proper amount of rest. It is so key in running smart!
